Sponsorship The Aysanew Trust is monitored on an ongoing basis by Jean Bailey, Aysanew's widow. Jean travels to Azezo from the UK at regular intervals. Her visits are independently funded and the Trustees offer their services on a purely voluntary basis. Therefore the running costs of the Trust are negligible and that the young people of Azezo benefit entirely from all donations.
In a remarkably short time, the Trust has managed to achieve a great deal in Azezo. Its activities and support allow individual children to achieve their full their potential. Currently more than 70 children are sponsored in Azezo High School, a further 70 children are recipients of school uniforms. Another 72 young people are being helped to continue their studies in higher education.
This personal and individual sponsorship is making a very real difference to the lives of many Azezo families. And just the awareness that there are people who care and are prepared to help can make life for these poor families more optimistic and positive

Our July 10th London 10k runners were brilliant and all finished within two hours, two in one hour on a very sunny Sunday. They managed to raise £1500 which now means we have only £5000 to go to complete the library and internet cafe and open in October this year!
