Azezo schools

Atse Fasile elementary school

Atse Fasile takes pupils from grades 1 to 8, with a total intake of 2300 in 2018–19, not including a pre-school of 200 young children, which it also runs. Our work with the elementary school involves funding projects designed to improve its educational facilities and, in the past, we have supported them to set up a clean drinking water supply and build new classrooms, toilets and a dining area for the pre-school.

This year (2019), we are funding the repainting of some of the classrooms, which are urgently in need of freshening up, and, provided that local funding is also obtained, the construction of toilets for the pre-school.

Azezo High School

Azezo High School, which covers grades 9 to 12, has around 4500 pupils enrolled, and class sizes are necessarily enormous. Despite this, the pupils' desire to learn is inspiring and it is always a pleasure to visit them and share in their enthusiasm. Past projects we have carried out with the school include the provision of clean drinking water and building a staffroom (complete with toilets and shower) and toilets.

In recent years, we have focused on ensuring that the pupils have access to a good IT education, especially important in today's technological world. We have purchased numerous computers for the school and funded computing classes for both students and teachers. This is set to continue throughout this academic year (2018–19).
